I really enjoyed driving through the hill country, it was the small town feel, the cozy vibes, the hills and mainly the views that blew me away.
I was looking for an escape from the city, and Comfort, Texas was the perfect spot. So what are some things to do in Comfort Texas?
Comfort is located 25 minutes from Fredericksburg, 1 hour from San Antonio, 2 hours from Austin, and almost 4 hours from Houston.
In this blog post, I will share with you how to eat, sleep, and travel in Comfort, Texas.

EAT
Highs Cafe – I actually ended up eating here for both lunch and dinner and I don’t regret it! I tried their tuna sandwich and their avocado toast and if I could, I would have ate here a third time.
Comfort Pizza – Above all, make sure to call a day or two ahead to reserve your pizza dough. I am not sure if this is only during covid, but I didn’t know this and missed out as they were closed the next days (Monday & Tuesday).
In addition, if you are looking for coffee, stop by Wander’n Calf Espresso Bar and Bakery. I highly recommend grabbing any of their pastries, I tried three and they were all amazing that I wished I had tried everything else!

SLEEP
Comfort has various lodging options but my favorite is Camp Comfort. It is located right on Cypress Creek and it is like camping but not.
Honestly, you don’t have to leave your cabin if you don’t want to so definitely leave a day to just relax here. I could have sat out by the creek all day!
Book a cabin or a suite and prepare to enjoy the creek, do some stargazing, and make s’mores by the campfire.
Check out my blog post here on my review of Camp Comfort. Similarly, another option is Meyer Bed and Breakfast.

TRAVEL TIPS
Most importantly, note that most restaurants and stores are closed on Mondays.
Although, if you happen to be there on a Monday, wineries and fast food are open. See below for my winery recommendations. I mean you are in the Texas hill country after all!
After that, if you have time you can do a daytrip to other small towns such as Boerne, Bandera & Kerrville. For instance, Comfort is also the perfect day trip from San Antonio.

Other things to do

ENJOY SOME WINE
Singing Water Vineyards – Go for the views & stay for the wine! I went for sunset and enjoyed some pizza with my wine. Similarly, they also offer other food options and it was located about a 10 min drive from where I stayed at Camp Comfort. The property is absolutely beautiful I could have enjoyed more time out there.
Others nearby: Bending Branch Winery, Hill Country Distillers & Newsom Vineyards
GO ANTIQUING
For instance, just walk down Main street and you will several shops. Stop in to whichever store catches your attention!
IF YOU WANT ADVENTURE
Head to Flat Rock Ranch for mountain biking or the Buckhorn Golf Course for some golf. Or drive 30 minutes to a cavern called, A Cave Without a name, its absolutely beautiful!
In conclusion, whatever it is you decide to do in Comfort, Texas, feel free to leave some free time off to just relax and soak in the views!
