Finding local coffee shops is one of my favorite things to do when I travel. If you want me to wake up early on vacation I will need a huge cup of coffee!
If you love coffee, I found over 7 coffee shops in Waco to add to your itinerary. Mainly because of course you will need some coffee to start your full day of exploring!

Dichotomy Coffee and Spirits not only sells coffee but also cocktails and specialty spirits. They have tons of indoor seating and also a rooftop patio with a hidden mural. Click here to see the mural.
Stop by for coffee and maybe if you stay long enough they will be open for cocktails! And make sure you go up the stairs and take a peek at the amazing view from the rooftop.

Common Grounds was opened by two native Wacoans and has been around for over 20 years. They have tons of outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating. It’s definitely a place you want to sit and hang out for a couple of hours.
If you know someone who went to Baylor, you know they rave about Common Grounds. Well, I experienced it for myself and I have to say they make some darn good coffee! We actually stopped by twice, as one day we needed a pick me up and their coffee is definitely strong and does the trick!

Pinewood Coffee Bar is also similar to Dichotomy in that they sell both coffee and right across in a separate building they sell beer!
You are able to sit in either one throughout the day and there is a food truck parked in their lot in case you get hungry. Pinewood Coffee has this whole hipster vibe, if you’re into that!

We stopped by Magnolia Table for Brunch and had to wait for our table to be ready. In the meantime, we decided to head to their Takeaway + Market area. We ordered some coffee and pastries and it was exactly the same coffee and pastries you would order inside at Magnolia Table.
The Takeway + Market area is perfect if you don’t want to wait for a table at Magnolia Table. For more tips on visiting Magnolia click here.

So I knew the coffee was going to be good at Magnolia Press but I didn’t know it would be THAT good. It was definitely my favorite cup of coffee from the whole trip! Not to mention the Bacon Cheddar Bake Trio was DELICIOUS. It’s basically egg bites but definitely the best ones I’ve ever had.
Magnolia Press is located at Magnolia Market and has some seating inside but plenty of seating outdoors.

At Waco Cha, all the beverages are handcrafted and made to order with your preference of sweetness! What I loved the most was that they had so many of options for those that are lactose intolerant. Some of their items on the menu already come with oat milk!
We ordered the small sizes, which I believe are the kid’s sizes, so we could try several of the drinks. I recommend trying as many as possible and doing 25% sweetness. It was the perfect amount of sweetness.
In addition, Waco Cha also owns Waco Bao which sells Chinese and Taiwanese food. You can find them at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.

Lalo’s coffee opened in 2020 and brings authentic Hispanic cultured drinks to Waco. They also have fresh pastries at the entrance and this beautiful colorful mural.
In Conclusion
Who knew Waco had so many coffee shops? I hope you found a new coffee shop to explore. After you get your coffee fix, click here for more things to do.
