5 Cool things to do in Houston
I know you may be itching to get out, so here are 5 cool things to do in Houston while maintaining social distance. Don’t forget to wear your masks!
Location: Glassell School of Art/5101 Montrose Blvd.
Tips: Need to get outside for a bit? Well head to the Cloud Column. Yes, it’s just like Chicago’s Bean but did you know Cloud Column was actually created first? While most things around it may be closed this is perfect to enjoy a quick breath of fresh air while social distancing. Since it is in the museum district you will likely have to pay for parking anywhere in this area.

2) Love Lock Bridge
Location: 500 Alen Pkwy
Tips: Are we in Paris? Stop by and snap a picture on your run or walk at the park. There is metered parking along Allen Pkwy, park close to Eleanor Tinsley Park for faster access to the bridge.
Location: Eleanor Tinsley Park at the Pavillion
Tips: Head to your local park or head to Eleanor Tinsley Park (pictured) and set up a picnic. Don’t forget the wine and cheese. 🙂 In my opinion, Eleanor Tinsley Park has one of the best views of downtown and is perfect for a picnic! Again, please set up six feet apart from others and maintain your social distance! Metered parking is available on Allen Parkway, park close to the pavillion for these views.

Location: Rice University located adjacent to the Shepherd School of Music
Tips: The Skyspace is free and open to the public. Although the light show at sunrise and sunset is currently closed, we managed to catch this beautiful sunset! There is plenty of paid visitor parking available throughout the campus but the closest is West Lot 2.
Location: 1500 Hermann Dr.
Tips: Did you know the Friendship Pavillion was actually a gift from Taipei? This was cool to find out since James’s parents are from Taiwan! Don’t forget to stop by the 30 ft garden mount and climb all the way to the top. Dogs are allowed but must be on leashes and picked up after. Park at Herman Park Lot C.
